Product Description

Premier RC Eagle Kite - One of the most stunning Vector Kites in the air, the RC Eagle will certainly stop an audience at the beach or any large flying field or park. The RC Eagles' huge 9.5 foot wingspan has a unique structure that not only assumes the shape of an efficient airfoil but moreover looks like the real wing of this majestic raptor. The RC Eagle Kite assembles in minutes and is fully capable of sporting loops, wingovers and other aerobatics. The clever above-the-body position of the Vector Power Unit conceals the mechanics while the bird flies overhead making for a most convincing avian spectacle. The Premier RC Eagle Kite is the hottest new kite invention in years. It is an awesome Aero Birdcraft that will not disappoint its' pilot.

This kite comes in 3 package choices: VR, ARF, RTF .

MORE: In 2008, a brilliant RC hobbyist in Solingen, Germany made a pioneering breakthrough and developed a revolutionary method to propel and control un-tethered kites. Instead of moving control surfaces, he moved the actual direction of thrust. By developing an elegant combination of a lightweight brushless motor, modern RC servos and a Cardanic gimbal system, he solved all problems of propulsion and control in one bold stroke. With a high thrust electric motor mounted inside a controllable gimbal, the system achieves full three axis control by augmenting thrust up, down, left , right, or in any combination. Pitch, yaw, roll and forward speed are all achieved by the combination of up-down and left-right thrust positioning along with proportional speed control of the brushless motor. Since the thrust on the propulsion unit is totally controlled in the way of both magnitude and direction, the propulsion assembly was christened a Vector Thrust Control Unit. The RC Eagle is an excellent introduction into the world of full three-axis Vector Power. Combining the innovation of Premier's proprietary gimbal thrust system with the graceful stability of the Eagle's large wingspan, this spectacular giant flying bird will turn heads as fast as it turns corners at your favorite flying field. A complete thrill to fly, the RC Eagle features smooth and slow flight with the ability to turn almost within its own length! No need for heavy landing gear or smooth runways, the Giant RC Eagle is able to rise off of any surface with a quick blast of vector engaged downward thrust. With its slow movement and large sail area, the Eagle kite is also a thrill to fly inside any neighborhood gym. RTF Package includes: Eagle Kite and fully-assembled Vector Power Unit, complete with transmitter, receiver, spare propeller, battery, battery charger, Vector Kite Field Bag and kite case.

  1. VR Eagle RC Kite - Two thumbs up and 5 stars!!!

Posted by Barry Nix on 2nd May 2011

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to put my whole two cents in on the Eagle. I purchased the ARF version about two weeks ago and finally got a relatively, or at least a lot calmer day compared to the last week, to fly the Eagle. I had recently read a few blogs on the Eagle and decided to fly it with two different batteries, a Turnigy 1600mAh 30c 3S weight 144 grams and a Gens 1800mAh 25c 3S weight 140 grams.

The reason I chose these instead of the stock battery for the first flights was simply due to a fairly steady wind at around 7mph and much higher gusts 75' to 100' up. The location was here in Charlotte, NC behind the Charlotte Motor Speedway and the field has a fairly good elevation which equates to some, strong at times, gusts coming up the hill.

The Eagle flew exactly as I expected. I did have to keep the throttle pushed up a good bit of the flight (due to the winds)but she still performed well. Loops were just as easy as they appear in the different videos, simply throttle up and pull back on the elevator and it will do a nice tight loop.

I only flew the bird for around 6 minutes on each of the batteries because of the wind. I didn't want to risk running out of juice and not being able to steer it. On 6 minutes of flight on each the batteries, they were registering around 3.74 volts per cell. This was a good safe point to land it. I probably could have gotten another minute and a half if I pushed it, but keep in mind that I was almost at full throttle most of the time.

I also did a few glides into the wind with no power and it didn't do anything crazy, just a nice steady glide loosing subtle amounts of altitude as it went. This was a huge advantage with the larger batteries on this type of day. I would be a little concerned with the lighter stock battery (1100 mAh) with this type of wind.

Landing was no problem. Just a quick shot of throttle just before it touches down to get the nose up and she'll sit right down.

Some of my buddies were also at the field and everyone of them loved the Eagle. The "WOW" factor is out the roof!!! Several of them mentioned possibly getting one.

Oh, and I about forgot to mention that a large Crow actually got within a few feet of the Eagle to check it out, but quickly decided that it didn't want any part of it. It was pretty cool to see!

To wrap-it-up I would say that the Eagle is well worth the money if you're looking for something a little different that is a real eye catcher. I would recommend using heavier batteries on windy days (8mph and up), just as I did. The stock battery will be fine on calmer days.

Thanks HWK for a great product!!!
